THE PROCESS OF INVESTIGATIONS (TWO DAY COURSE)

The process of Investigations Course provides a good insight on what to do when a loss report or incident is reported in an industrial environment.  It provides appropriate step by step actions with aim to prevent such occurrence in the work place.  The processes provided will be similar to problem solving techniques used to solve any quality or productivity issues.  Hence such knowledge can also be used to investigate any issues in an industrial environment. 

 

The course further provides knowledge on the legal aspects related to investigations and also on the final preparation of a report or presentation for management.

OBJECTIVE

  • The main objective of this course is to equip the security officer or manager with investigative knowledge in order that he or she can contribute positively towards loss prevention or crime in the organisation.  It is also a tool to ensure that an effective investigation is carried out to support the management.  It will definitely help the security team to conduct loss trend analysis to improve the security system and service to the organization.

  • Modus Operandi.
  • 5W & 1 H Analysis. 
  • Workshop 02 – SWOT Analysis.

DAY 2

Module 03 – Interview Techniques

  • Purpose of Interview
  • Lie Detection (Detection of Deception)
  • Type of Questioning
  • Statement Recording & Analysis
  • Common Interviewer Errors
  • Interview versus interrogation. 
  • Workshop 03 – Statement Recording

 

Module 04 –  Report Writing and Presentation

  • Organizing the investigation papers.
  • Summary of facts for prosecution.
  • Charge Sheet 
  • Final Report for Management/Inquiry.
  • Workshop – Preparing a Report.

Target Group

The process of Investigations Course suits best for all security officers or supervisors or personnel who are from HR or other departments taking up roles as in-charge of security.  It will be good refresher for security managers or provide  excellent knowledge for those ex-armed forces or police officers without investigations experience.
